Relocation
The seven communities that comprise the Wausau/Central Wisconsin area each have their own personality, that when combined together, creates a special place to live and work. The question is, what do you look for in a place to live? What's missing where you currently live? Everyone has different tastes and needs, so let's see if this area has something to offer you!
I love the outdoors!
If this is the case then why aren't you already living here? The fresh air and tall trees tell you that you've entered the Northwoods. Marathon County has great facilities for hunting, fishing, and camping. Rib Mountain State Park, the Wisconsin River, and Lake Dubay provide the setting for a wide range of recreational activities.
Will I be able to find work?
Our economic environment is thriving as companies are finding the Wausau area an excellent place to start a business and recruit quality employees. There are several organizations in the area that have implemented initiatives to train and develop a skilled work force. Continued growth means new and exciting opportunities for you.
I like the arts and entertainment found in the big cities!
The Wausau Area has a long standing commitment to the visual and performing arts. Facilities like the Grand Theater and the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum rank as some of the finest in the state. The Performing Arts Foundation and its affiliate organizations provide live theater, ballet, concerts, Broadway shows, and more.
I like Winter!
With so many ways to enjoy it, you'll wish winter lasted longer. Skiing and snowboarding at Granite Peak Ski Area and Sylvan Hill. Cross-country skiing at Nine Mile Forest Recreation Area. 750 miles of snowmobile trails to explore. Snowshoeing, ice fishing, ice skating, curling, sledding...whew!
I don't like Winter!
If your enthusiasm for snow stops at how pretty it makes everything look, then you'll be able to take advantage of the other benefits of living in this area. Keep your golf swing current at Dome on the Range, an indoor driving range. Stretch your legs walking our shopping districts, or take a one-hour vacation at the Hot Haus Hot Tub Oasis. Take a seminar at one of the area colleges or join a class offered by the Center for the Visual Arts.
I like to keep busy!
With six communities to choose from, there's always something going on. Festivals and events are scheduled throughout the year. Our central location in the state makes it easy for friends and family to visit. The Central Wisconsin Airport connects the Wausau area to any point in the United States.
You're Invited...to take a closer look! We encourage you to browse...take a test drive...try a sample. Whether you're looking to start a family or start a career, you'll find the Wausau/Central Wisconsin area a great place to live.
